About RODTEP
Remission of Duties or Taxes on Export Products
The RoDTEP (Remission of Duties or Taxes on Exported Products) Scheme, effective from January 1, 2021, replaced the erstwhile MEIS (Merchandise Exports from India Scheme). It aims to refund embedded central, state, and local duties, taxes, and levies on exported products that are not otherwise refunded or exempted under existing mechanisms.
The rebate is provided in the form of a transferable electronic duty credit (e-scrip), which is maintained in an electronic ledger on the ICEGATE/CBIC platform. These e-scrips can be used to pay eligible customs duties or transferred to another eligible entity, subject to applicable rules.

About RoSCTL
Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies
The RoSCTL (Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies) Scheme provides rebates on eligible exports of Apparel (Chapters 61 and 62) and Made-ups (Chapter 63). The scheme is designed to rebate embedded State and Central taxes, duties, and levies that are not refunded through existing GST mechanisms.
Similar to RoDTEP, RoSCTL benefits are issued in the form of transferable electronic duty credit scrips (e-scrips). These scrips can be transferred or monetized, enabling exporters to realize the value of their eligible export benefits efficiently.
